Glacier Lake Trail - Trail access is a short ride across Kachemak Bay on their water taxi the Baylink. This hike is a popular loop route joined by the Saddle and Grewingk trails. The trail crosses flat terrain, through stands of cottonwoods and spruce, and across the dry outwash plain of the Grewingk Glacier. It ends at the broad, open beach of Grewingk Glacier Lake. The trail offers superb views of the glacier and its surrounding peaks.
Guided Full Day Paddle: Cruise across Kachemak Bay. Join your guide at Otter Cove where you will receive instruction in paddling and safety while on the water. You will be fitted to your kayak, life jacket and spray skirt to ensure that you will be comfortable once you depart the beach. Paddle among the sea otters in the pristine waters of Otter Cove, Sadie Cove, Tutka Bay and Yukon Island. Keep your eyes open for sea birds, porpoises and other sea life. Your guide will customize the trip to meet your needs and skills. Stop along the way to observe the colorful invertebrates in the clear water tidepools. Bring along your lunch and drinks, camera, binoculars, warm clothes and light rain gear. You will stop along the way to walk on the beach, tidepool and eat lunch.
Gull Island /Kachemak Bay Cruise - Enjoy a narrated cruise to the famous bird rookery at Gull Island. This is a great way to see puffins, cormorants, kittiwakes and other migratory seabirds while you learn about their diets, habits and migratory patterns. Watch for sea otters and an occasional whale as you cruise Kachemak Bay. In addition to Gull Island you will cruise to 60 foot rock and into Eldred Passage and Tutka Bay. The scenery is breath taking.
